Great news. Most of the lads from the this years Under 9 team have been selected for the British International School Under 9 team to go to Phuket, Thailand next week, to play in a British International School tournament. The team have been practicing each Wednesday for the last few weeks, and with a holiday last Wednesday, some of the boys turned up at Futsol in Kemang Raya, and are looking sharp.
Will keep you posted and hopefully will get some good phptps on the blog.

A great first season

BIS Blue U9 Season review 2008
“A great first season “
In our first season together we came a very creditable second in the league with a played 7 won 5 drew 1 lost 1 record in the league and in the Greenfields cup we won 1 drew 1 and narrowly lost in the resulting penalty shoot out. With only 7 goals conceded in the league we had the best defensive record in the U9 A and B leagues. We also had 7 different nationalities playing for the team truly living up to the British International School name.
The Squad members:
Liam Trainor : Goalkeeper/ defender/ 1 Goal
Shawn Tjahaja : Goalkeeper/ Midfielder/ 9 Goals
Charlotte Wheeler : Midfielder/ 9 Goals
Sam Evans : Striker/ 10 Goals
Ablai McKerrow : Striker/ 12 Goals
Charlie McFadden : Striker/ 14 goals
Jack Mather : Midfielder
Gus Page : Midfielder/ Striker/ 2 Goals
Charlie Brooker : Defender/ Goalkeeper
Rijal Rowe : Defender/ Midfielder/ 3 Goals
Michael Wang : Midfielder/Defender
Jin Wook Lee : Defender
Thanks Fred for the photo and report.

A good end to the season with the British International School Under 9 Blues winning a medal for 2nd place in the competition. Thanks Charles (Coach), Ian and all the parents who made this possible, plus the hard working officials and sponsors. And last, and most importantly, to the boys and girls who played fine football in a spirit of fair play.

Match report U9 League BIS BLUE v SI

Venue DIS
Score 13- 1
Goalscorers:
Shawn Tjahaja 3,Sam Evans 2,Charlie McFadden 1, Ablai McKerrow 4,Charlotte Wheeler1,Gus Page 2
BIS Blue were captained by Michael Wang who won the man of the match award for an outstanding game in midfield with a non stop display of ball winning tackles and dominating the SIS team.
The game was played at DIS on a very good field in perfect condition. The game kicked off and BIS attacked from the start but after only 4 minutes a late tackle injured midfielder Jack Mathers who had to leave the field and went to Hospital for x-rays on his injured knee. This was a loss to the team as Jack has been a standout player in midfield this season, consistently playing well with his box to box energy, tackling, running and passing. Jack will miss the remaining game.
From the free kick awarded for the foul Liam Trainor scored a great goal with a thunderbolt of a shot into the top corner of the goal and this then opened the floodgates with BIS running 13 goals in past a hard working and spirited SIS.
Top scorer on the day was Ablai McKerrow with 4 goals closely followed by Shawn Tjahaja with a very well taken hat-trick. Sam Evans worked hard for his two goals and Charlie McFadden popped up with his usual strike.
Gus Page scored his first goals of the season and capped an overall top class display with the goal of the day with a great volley after another good run by the ever impressive Charlotte Wheeler who also added to the score line.
The defence of Charlie Brooker and Rijal Rowe were solid and continue to impress with strong winning tackles and ever improving teamwork.
One game remaining and a win will clinch runners up spot, a winning first season for the team and a lot of great things to be proud of. Bogor are in the drivers seat for the title and look like deserved champions.

Match Report:
BIS Blue U9 captained for the day by Sam Evans put them selves back in championship contention with an excellent display against JJC White running out well deserved winners by 4-1.
Charlotte Wheeler opened the scoring then Charlie McFadden showed his pace and scored two well taken goals to take his total for the season to 10. Ablai McKerrow who had another strong game added the fourth. The midfield trio of Gus Page, Jack Mathers and Charlotte Wheeler dominated play and Rijal Rowe continued his powerhouse runs after returning from KL rugby duty last week. Sam Evans and Shawn Tjahaja were unlucky not to score with some great runs and the new defensive link up with Michael Wang, Charlie Brooker and Jin Wook Lee is really starting to look solid. Mr Dependable Liam Trainor also did well in defence plus his regular routine in goal and is starting to look unbeatable. BIS Blue now have the second best defensive record in all the 3 U9 divisions.

BIS Blue were captained by Ablai McKerrow who played a midfield role today after his recent goal scoring exploits. We also welcomed back Jin Wook Lee from injury. The smaller pitch at ISCI caused BIS a few early problems but they were soon off the mark with Sam Evans ending a sweeping three man move by McFadden, Wheeler and a final cross by McKerrow to slot home the opener.
BIS continued to press forward and Sam Evans added his second from close range and this was closely followed by another goal by Charlotte Wheeler, bringing her tally to 6 for the season. Just before the break striker Charlie McFadden made a quick sprint and scored a cross shot to make the Q1 score 4-0 to BIS.
Q2 saw the start of the Shawn Tjahaja show. Shawn moved from out of goal to dominate the midfield with surging runs and some powerful shots, one in particular was a thunderbolt into the top corner from a free kick. Sam Evans continued to cause the defence problems and scored two more quick fire goals to bring his tally for the day to 4 goals, a classic strikers game lethal inside the box.
Q3/Q4 saw BIS maintain focus and Shawn brought his goal tally to 4 for the day with two more strong shots from distance. Rijal Rowe continued his goal scoring form with his third goal of the season with some surging runs from defence. Charlie McFadden topped off the scoring with his second goal of the day and his seventh goal of the season. Liam Trainor and Jin Wook Lee continue to look excellent defenders and also tried hard to get on the score sheet, maybe next week guys. The Final words should go to the NHJSS team, they showed tremendous character and team spirit during the entire game and were a great credit to both their Coach and their School, the game was played in a very good spirit and was well officiated by the referee. Final Score 12-0.

A melee in the goalmouth against Singapore International school.

This game saw home debuts for defender Charlie Brooker, and strikers Ablai McKerrow and Sam Evans.
The game started at a fast pace and Charlie McFadden opened the scoring for BIS with a strong shot. This opened up the floodgates and Ablai McKerrow had a dream debut by scoring 5 great goals. Rijal Rowe and Shawn Tjahaja both scored for the second week running and Sam Evans opened his account for the season with a well taken goal.
Charlie McFadden scored two more goals including a penalty to score his first BIS hat-trick.
The midfield of Charlotte Wheeler, Jack Mathers and Michael Wang dominated play and Charlie Brooker had a strong game both in defence and in goal on his debut. Liam Trainor was again rock solid in defence.

BIS U9 Blue held by Bogor Raya.
Thanks Fred for this great match report.
Saturday January 26th 2008
The top of the league game against Bogor Raya was an entertaining game with each side falling behind then taking the lead.
Both teams were unbeaten so far and from the kick off BIS pushed for the opener, Rijal Rowe showed good determination in the box which forced a Bogor own goal. Bogor then scored twice to lead 2-1 at HT. The third quarter saw BIS Blue work hard and Charlotte Wheeler did well to equalize 2- 2. Jack Mathers, Gus Page and Sam Evans then combined well to allow Charlie McFadden to score with a snap shot from the edge of the box to put BIS 3-2 up. Man of the match was Liam Trainor who played a great game in goal, Liam made several outstanding saves to keep BIS in front. Just as the whistle approached an own goal allowed Bogor to score and make it 3-3 and then BIS almost won the game when the Bogor keeper made a great save from Ablai McKerrow.
Overall the result was fair with both teams showing good levels of teamwork and skill.

BIS U9 BLUE TEAM WIN OPENING GAME.
BIS Blue opened their season with a 7- 0 win v ACG/NIS at the BIS field.
BIS Blue captained for the day by Liam Trainor had to play in their changed yellow bibs. They kicked off and started well with a few early chances to score. Finally 5 minutes into the game Rijal Rowe who had a very strong game won the ball in midfield moved forward and shot from distance into the far corner past the keeper.1-0 to BIS Blue.
This set the tone for the rest of the game, next Charlotte Wheeler took over and scored twice and then Charlie McFadden with another good shot from the box scored before halftime. 4-0 BIS Blue.
In the second half the team stayed well focused on the game and played some nice attacking football with Gus Page and Charlie linking up well with Jack Mathers in midfield this resulted in Shawn Tjahaja scoring a nice goal from outside the box. The Charlotte Wheeler show then continued with two more goals bringing her tally to 4 for the day, a great non stop game in midfield.
ACG/NIS were not the strongest of teams but they did have two very good players that the defence of Liam, Jin Wook , Michael Wang Rijal and Shawn closed down whenever they looked like scoring. Very well done but tougher games are ahead of us.
Scorers:
Rijal Rowe 1

The draw
On 26 January, the game between Bogor Raya and BIS blues under 9, was an evenly matched contest. Both teams wasted goal scoring opportunities and from my view, Bogor looked a little more hungry to win. Bisboysblue looked a little lethargic and lacked the winning instinct. But the sportsmanship was great and the warm handshakes afterwards were real. They had fun, learned about themselves, and at the end of the day, are a little wiser and fitter. Come on Fred ! I need your match report.
Thanks
Bob
Go Jack !
