BIS A U10 continued their impressive season by clinching a spot in the Greenfields Cup final with a semi final win V SD Al Fath.

This was a tough at times physical game with Al Fath pushing BIS all the way in an entertaining game.

This was also a sad day for BIS who had Shimpei Kameyama playing his last game for the school as he returns back to Japan this week. Shimpei has been outstanding on the right side of midfield all season and will be a big loss to the team for the cup final with his great runs and energy.

Charlie McFadden started the ball rolling with a snapshot from close range that was diverted in by an Al Fath defender. Soon after defender Kiran Ross scored a wonder goal with a thunderous strike from a full 25 metres out that gave the keeper no chance.

Al Fath kept pushing and pulled a goal back after some frantic play inside the BIS penalty box they shot home past Gijs Berkhout from close range.

The BIS defence needed to stand firm with Rijal Rowe and Kiran Ross outstanding and William Boyce and Kevin Gibney making some great tackles. Gijs Berkhout in goal made some brave saves under pressure.

The second half started with BIS taking control of the midfield with Jeremy Hillock covering almost every blade of grass on the pitch and with Shawn Tjahaja and Shimpei working hard on the flanks BIS started to dominate.. The third goal finally came from John Broadfoot who scored with a crisp follow up shot after Ablai McKerrow had shown some of his magic in the box and had his strong shot saved by the overworked Al Fath keeper. to put BIS 3-1 up.
Ilyes Benmaamar continues to improve each week with some great running and was unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions. The next goal was an individual effort from Captain Jeremy Hillock who beat three men down the left side of the penalty box before firing across the keeper into the bottom corner to seal the game for BIS. Charlie McFadden scored the final goal with some quick control on the edge of the box and a strong shot into the top corner for his 17th goal of the season.

Not our best display as Al Fath knocked us out of our rhythm at times but again we showed great team spirit and a high work rate and we still managed to score some excellent goals.

Goodbye to SHIMPEI, gone but never forgotten.

BIS will now play Al Azhar in a much anticipated Greenfields Cup Final.

Into the finals of the Greenfield Cup - Goodbye Shimpei !

BIS Under 10 Red had a 5 to 1 win over Al Fath today, which now places them in the final of the Greenfield's cup. Al Fath gave BIS a run for their money, and showed they are a team of the future.

Today was Shimpei's game. This is his last game before returning to Japan, and Shimpei Kameyama showed his class again, and as Fred said to his dad at the end of the match, "When he plays for Japan, please send the transfer fees to BIS."
On behalf of all your team mates, Peter and Fred, thank you for your great contribution to Under 10 football in Jakarta, Shimpei.

Thanks to Stuart Boyce for the excellent photos posted here.

Match Report: BIS U10A V JIS U10A Score BIS A 6 – JIS A 3

THE CHAMPIONS

Team:
Jeremy Hillock ( Capt), Charlie McFadden, Rijal Rowe, Ablai McKerrow Shawn Tjahaja, Kiran Ross, William Boyce, Gijs Berkhout, John Broadfoot, Shimpei Kameyama, Ilyes Benmaamar, Kevin Gibney,

Goalscorers: Charlie McFadden 3, Shawn Tjahaja 2,

Ablai McKerrow 1

BIS U10A clinched the Coca Cola league championship with a deserved 6-3 win over JIS A who could have pushed the championship to a 3 way play off with a win today.

This was again a fine advertisement for the quality of the league with another high standard game played with great skill and sporting behavior by both teams.

Charlie McFadden opened the scoring after 3 minutes with a snapshot from inside the box following good play down the right by Hillock, Shimpei and Rijal Rowe. The game was open from box to box and JIS pulled level with a great volley from Jasper Hall from a strong Jorrit De Row corner.

BIS took the lead just before the break with a beautifully worked move down the left with Jeremy Hillock and Kiran Ross linking very well before Ross crossed to the far post were Ablai McKerrow timed his run and volley perfectly to give the JIS keeper no chance. A training ground drill finally comes good.
BIS struck again quickly with Shawn Tjahaja shooting home after good work from John Broadfoot and Kiran Ross.

Q3 saw JIS work hard to get back into the game and the always dangerous Jasper Hall ran at the defence from the halfway line before striking a great shot past the keeper.
BIS had to lift their game and with the midfield of Hillock, Tjahaja, Shimpei and Broadfoot dominating the middle of the park Hillock played in Charlie McFadden who scored his second goal showing great skill to turn a defender before shooting into the bottom corner. BIS A 4 JIS A 2.
The drama continued when JIS were awarded a penalty kick. The BIS A keeper Gijs Berkhout who has been in outstanding form this season making several great saves in key games during the season pulled of another brilliant reaction save to push the penalty kick over the bar to keep the score at 4-2.

As ever this spurred BIS A on for the clinching goals and Charlie McFadden completed an excellent hatrick with a left footed shot past the keeper after great support play by Ablai McKerrow and Jeremy Hillock.

JIS were not out of it quite yet with Jasper Hall again showing what a great striker he is by twisting and turning and having a strong shot brilliantly saved by Gijs Berkhout but the rebound was hit home by Mika Kelsey to pull JIS back again. BISA 5-JISA 3.

As the game ran down BIS continued to control the game and clinched the win when Kevin Gibney and Ilyes Benmaamar worked the ball well down the left before Gibney crossed for Shawn Tjahaja who controlled the ball nicely before slotting the ball home just inside the post giving BIS A a 6-3 lead. Moments later the whistle went with the BISA team ecstatic after going unbeaten all season and winning all their games they were truly the deserved champions. The team spirit of the BIS boys was exceptional and has been a highlight of their play all season and the consistent strong leadership of Captain Jeremy Hillock in the middle of the park was a perfect foundation for the team to dominate games from.

BIS U10A v SDAF U10A 10:2

March 6th 2010
BIS U10A 10 V Al Fath 2
Goal scorers : Charlie McFadden 3 Shawn Tjahaja 2 Gijs Berkhout 2 William Boyce 1 Jeremy Hillock 1 Ablai McKerrow 1
Team: Berkhout, Ross, Rowe, Boyce, Gibney, Hillock, Tjahaja, Kameyama, Broadfoot, McKerrow. McFadden

BIS A set up a “classic” end to the season when they beat a hard working SD Al Fath team who were on a 4 match winning run themselves to set up a mouth watering final game next week with JIS to decide the Championship. BIS need a win or a draw to clinch the title, JIS must win to send the championship into a 3 way tie with Al Azhar and a morning of play off games at a later date,
Todays game was all about the result and BIS without really getting into top gear won by an impressive 10 -2 scoreline.

Q1 was a slow start by both teams, Charlie McFadden shot home inside 3 minutes but Al Fath equalized with a fine run and shot that the BIS defense for once did not defend well. Shawn Tjahaja eased the pressure when he knocked home a fine goal at the far post after a brilliant run and cross from Captain Jeremy Hillock
Q2 opened up with BIS finally getting into a rhythm which led to very well worked goals with a solo run and goal from Jeremy Hillock, Charlie McFadden scored his second after good play from Shawn Tjahaja and Ablai McKerrow and then we had a first league goal from William Boyce who has spent the season leading our defense chose this time to push forward and support the attack, William controlled the pass from John Broadfoot and shot home from outside the box for a well taken and deserved goal.

Q3 A three man passing move from Kevin Gibney and John Broadfoot found Ablai McKerrow on the edge of the box, Ablai looked up and then curled a beautiful shot into the top corner giving the keeper no chance, Shimpei and Hillock then combined nicely to set up Charlie McFadden to complete his hat trick when he controlled and beat his man before firing a scorcher high into the net just under the bar, lovely football and teamwork from BIS.
Q4 Saw the “irrepressible” Gijs Berkhout move from his goalkeeper duties to play striker and he showed his many skills with two very well taken goals converting excellent crosses from Kiran Ross who gets better each week and Shimpei.
