BIS U10A WIN OPENING GAME.

Score : BIS A 3 v JJCA 0
Scorers : Shawn Tjahaja 2, Ablai McKerrow

BIS U10 A opened the new season with an excellent 3-0 win against a hard working JJC team. On the BIS Main A field.

What made the performance even more impressive was that BIS had seven players making their A team debuts, Ross, Boyce, Shimpei, Berkhout Broadfoot, Gibney and Benmaamar all made their debuts memorable with fine individual displays combined with strong teamwork.

Q1 The first quarter was all BIS with the midfield of Hillock,Tjahaja and Shimpei dominating from the start but the first goal was elusive with Charlie McFadden striking the foot of the post and going close twice and a long range power shot from Captain Jeremy Hillock going just wide. The stalemate was finally broken with a bit of magic in the box from Ablai McKerrow who twisted and turned to create the chance for Shawn Tjahaja to shoot home strongly to give BIS a deserved lead.

Q2 saw BIS continue to press for the second goal with John Broadfoot slotting into midfield very nicely with some good link play and great crosses into the box. Upfront Ilyes Benmaamar was causing problems with some powerful running but halftime came with BIS still only 1-0 in front.

Q3 and JJC made some strong attacks but debut boy William Boyce was outstanding in the centre of defence with some great tackles and clever cover play, William was ably supported by Kevin Gibney who also looked very comfortable on his debut. The crucial second goal came from the impressive Ablai McKerrow who struck a beautiful shot from just inside the box over the JJC goalkeeper to make it 2-0 to BIS.

Q4 and JJC continued to work hard to get back into the game but again the BIS defence was rock solid with Kiran Ross showing what a classy player he is with some perfect winning tackles and excellent distribution to the front players. Rijal Rowe was also a powerhouse down the right hand side of defence.

BIS continued to play some great passing football with Hillock, Tjahaja. Broadfoot and Shimpei all having excellent games and upfront McFadden and McKerrow were constant threats with their movement and link play.

The third goal came from a lovely 3 man passing move that resulted in the outstanding Shawn Tjahaja to show great ball control before slotting the ball home past the onrushing JJC keeper to make BIS A 3-0 winners.

Next week we face last seasons champions SCB at ISCI, SCB have already won their 2 opening games so we will need to be at our very best if we are to set the standard for this seasons championship challenge.

BIS A showed a great willingness to work for each other and the support play was very good, this will only improve as the season progresses.
