BIS A played an excellent game of football against a strong Al Azhar team to win 4-1 in a hard fought match. The first quarter was very tight with both goalkeepers prominent and ended goalless. YongJoo Kim in goal for BIS A made some fine saves to keep BIS level. The second quarter was the turning point with a great midfield display of game winning tackles from Jeremy Hillock, Luke Faulds and the non stop Michael Wang plus the brave defending by Chelsea Rock, Calum Pitkethly and Zach Parsons. Mathew Bavin continued his brilliant goal scoring form by putting BIS ahead with a great run and shot.
The second goal came after good work by the ever improving Shawn Tjahaja who got the ball into the box where Charlie McFadden showed quick reflexes and bravery to force the ball home from close range, 2-0 BIS at halftime. The third quarter continued at a fast pace with Al Azhar pushing BIS all the way but it was Mathew Bavin again who made it 3-0 with a well taken shot from outside the box. Al Azhar never stopped playing good football and pulled a goal back immediately to make it 3-1 To BIS. The depth of the BIS squad showed its strength with great performances by Rijal Rowe, Tom Mawson and Dong Hyun Kim and upfront Ablai McKerrow was looking very sharp and showed his varied skills with some great footwork which resulted in Mathew Bavin getting his second hat trick of the season when Mathew showed sublime control and composure to score from a tight angle. This was an excellent team goal. Final score 4-1 to BIS A.
Once again the game was won in midfield with Jeremy Hillock and Luke Faulds dominating the battling Al Azhar midfield. In defense we had big games from Calum Pitkethly, Rijal Rowe and Zach Parsons, Zach was also injured in the face during a goal saving block but showed his bravery by playing on to the end. YongJoo Kim in goal continues to improve each game with some very good saves today. Up front Mathew Bavin is on fire with his great runs and powerful shooting skills.

The U10 A division continues to provide good quality football from very competitive teams.

TWO MATCH REPORTS 17 and 18 January 2009

Match Report: U10A

BIS A v STB-ACS
17-01-09

Score BIS A 2- STB-ACS 5

Team:

Jong Joo Kim, Jeremy Hillock, Mathew Bavin, Charlie McFadden, Zach Parsons, Chelsea Rock, Luke Faulds, Dong Hyun Kim, Rijal Rowe, Ablai McKerrow, Calum Pitkethly, Tom Mawson, Siddartha, Michael Wang, Shawn Tjahaja

Goalscorers: Jeremy Hillock 2 ( 1Penalty)

This was a game that BIS A had the chances to win but a brilliant display from the STB star player Fandi who scored 4 great goals caused BIS A to lose their first game of the season 5-2.
STB were 2 goals up after 5 minutes with BIS struggling to cope with the pace and skills of Fandi. The second quarter BIS played stronger and Jeremy Hillock, Luke Faulds plus Chelsea Rock, Calum Pitkethly and Rijal Rowe in defence started to gain control. BIS then struck back when Jeremy Hillock scored a superb solo goal before slotting home a penalty kick to make the score 2-2 at halftime. The game was even at this point and BIS A then missed a couple of half chances and forced some saves fine from the STB goalkeeper before eventually Fandi lost his markers and scored two quick goals to win the game. A great game played at a fast pace with some good football at times but never the less a very disappointing defeat after such hard work from the entire team, we will play worse and win games I am sure.

BIS A V BIS Blue
18-01-09

Score BIS A 8- BIS Blue 0

Scorers: Charlie McFadden, Mathew Bavin 3, Ablai McKerrow 2, Jeremy Hillock 2,

This was the game of “ Friends and Mates” BIS Red started very strongly but great defence from Jack Mathers, Liam Trainor and Dante and hard work from William Boyce and Keating Derby-Crook in midfield held out until just before the end of Q1 when Mathew Bavin and Charlie McFadden both scored well taken goals. Q2 saw BIS A start to get on top and goals by Jeremy Hillock, Ablai McKerrow and Mathew Bavin put them 5-0 up.Q3 BIS Blue worked very hard and with Sam Evans, Shimpei and William Boyce pushing forward at the front put the BIS Red defence under some pressure.Q4 Saw the Reds score again with Mathew Bavin completing his second hat-trick of the season and Jeremy and Ablai both scoring very good goals. For BIS Blue Jack Mathers was outstanding in his deputy role as goalkeeper.

The game was played with fantastic spirit and sporting behavior and was a credit to the BIS school. BIS Blue worked hard with no success to show but never gave up playing.
